“We do not have to make the Law work; it is Its nature to work.” SOM 272.1
No one has ever had to initiate the Law of God to do anything. For instance, our bodies, created by that Infinite Creative Wisdom, function without our help. None of us decides which vegetable we eat is to morph into finger nails; which protein we ingest to become a strand of hair; which carbohydrate should become that extra pound in our muffin top!
The Infinite Mind of God is that power and presence which decided how the human body must function. Well, what a relief that is! We are now left to use the Law for other things, as we are relieved of the burden of consciously producing new cells, moving oxygen through our bodies via the life-stream of blood, and all the other millions of things the body was established to do all on its own, while we can play with ideas of a different sort.
The only help the Law of God needs from any of us is our willingness to be a conduit for all ideas to become manifest. For instance, if I were unwilling to participate in the manifestation of perfect health, my physical body would be ill and diseased. This participation comes by way of a conscious decision on my part to always think in terms of vitality and health for myself, and I can do this in many ways. For example, my mind – the Thinker within me – understands the concept of perfect health, as there is a pattern of perfect health in the Mind of God, which is the Thinker within me. As I align myself in consciousness with that pattern of perfect health, the Law makes sure my body reveals this pattern to the world. I don’t have to make the Law do this; this is Its nature.
After making the decision to align with the pattern of perfect health, my part in this requires me to do certain things. The body was designed to operate in a certain way, just as automobiles were designed to operate a certain way – there is a law unto all things. Like my little red car, my body is designed to function at optimum by my providing the appropriate fuel to make it respond in a positive way. If I put water in the gas tank of my car, it isn’t going to go anywhere. If I put the right fuel in it, it goes where I steer it. My body requires the appropriate fuel to make it go where I steer it, based on the same principle as the car. . . . the law unto it . . . .providing the right fuel.
Staying with the car analogy, if I let my automobile sit in the garage for weeks or months, it will not operate properly when I do finally take it out for a spin. Likewise, if I don’t exercise my body on a regular basis for long lengths of time, its movement will be impaired when I do stand up and begin to move about.
I am willing to be the conduit for perfect health to be revealed in the world, always moving with great agility and grace, always feeling powerful and vital, remembering who and Whose I am. I am never separate from my Creator; I am never separate from my Good. There is only One, I am some part of It, and It is all that I am. Glory be to God as It expresses in Love and Beauty by means of me.
There is a Power for Good in the Universe, greater than we are, and we can use It. The Law of God is that Power; It is present everywhere; It knows all things; It does all things. I am so grateful to know this, to express this, and to be the activity of God manifested in the world as me.
